Why choose Mechanical Engineering?

As a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering, you become an expert in understanding, modelling and developing complex mechanical systems.

You work with technologies that help shape the sustainable solutions of the future – from energy systems and refrigeration technology to advanced material characterisation and industrial structures.

The programme combines theoretical insight with numerical modelling, practical application and close collaboration with industry, preparing you to create value in both research and business.

Mechanical Engineering is for you if you…

  • want to work with complex mechanical systems, materials and energy technology
  • are interested in modelling, simulation and experimental methods
  • want to develop sustainable solutions within areas such as energy, cooling, materials and manufacturing
  • want to specialise in either Fluid Mechanics and Energy or Solid Mechanics and Materials

What will you learn?

On the Master’s programme in Mechanical Engineering, you gain in-depth knowledge of modern mechanics, energy technology and materials science. You can specialise in one of two academic profiles.

Fluid Mechanics and Energy focuses on areas such as Power-to-X, cooling and heating systems, and energy-efficient solutions – often in collaboration with companies such as Danfoss.

Solid Mechanics and Materials focuses on the modelling and optimisation of mechanical systems and materials. Here, you learn to use advanced simulation tools and experimental methods to predict and improve the durability, performance and sustainability of products.

You learn to analyse and solve complex engineering problems, develop and test new solutions, and work systematically with innovation and sustainable product development.

Teaching methods

The programme combines theory, laboratory work and project-based activities – often in collaboration with companies or research environments.

You work with concrete technical problems and gain experience in using advanced analysis, simulation and testing methods in practice.
