Why choose Civil Engineering and Design?
As a MSc in Engineering in Civil Engineering and Design, you become an expert in designing sustainable structures for the built environment – e.g. buildings, bridges, infrastructure, and more. You learn advanced methods for calculating and designing building structures and work on the design, development and construction of climate-friendly buildings and infrastructure.
The programme gives you a unique competence profile with competences in digital design, climate-friendly structures and sustainable materials. In addition, you gain specialist competences in either Structural Engineering or Computational Design and Robotics for Engineering, Architecture and Construction Technology (CREATE).
Civil Engineering and Design is for you if you…
- want to work with climate-driven design and sustainable construction
- want to specialise in either structural engineering or future digital technology for construction
- want to combine engineering, digital design, laboratory work and the green transition of the construction sector
What will you learn?
The aim of the Master’s programme is to educate experts and future leaders for the green transition in construction, combining a solid engineering background with expertise in future technologies and design innovation.
The programme offers a combination of courses on theoretical topics and courses with project work, ranging from digital design and simulation to practical laboratory experiments. You develop the creative thinking and problem-solving skills needed to tackle technical, environmental and societal challenges in construction and civil engineering.
You choose one of two profiles: Structural Engineering or Computational Design and Robotics for Engineering, Architecture and Construction Technology (CREATE).
Teaching format
Teaching is closely connected to the research environment at º£½ÇÉçÇø and alternates between theory and practical projects, often in collaboration with companies in the construction sector. Courses are taught by internationally recognised researchers. During your studies, you will take part in experimental activities in modern laboratory facilities.
