Why choose Interactive Technology Engineering?

Interactive technologies are all around us. From apps and AI assistants to computer games, VR experiences, smart home products, robots and large platforms in areas such as the healthcare system.

On the BSc in Interactive Technology Engineering, you learn to create the systems that connect the digital world with people. You combine technological engineering expertise with creative design and user insight, enabling you to develop solutions that work naturally and meaningfully for users in everyday life.

Interactive Technology Engineering is for you if you…

  • want to work with the interaction between technology and people
  • want to learn how to develop AI systems, apps, digital solutions, user interfaces and interactive systems
  • are curious about how technology can be made more intuitive, usable and meaningful
  • want to combine programming and engineering with creativity, design and user insight

What will you learn?

The programme gives you a solid technical understanding of software development, mathematics and systems thinking, combined with knowledge of interaction design, user-centred methods and digital technologies.

You will work with programming, data structures, web technologies and software architecture, and learn to design intuitive user interfaces and digital experiences. Along the way, you will gain insight into how software is connected to physical systems in cyber-physical solutions such as smart products or sensor-based systems.

The focus is on how people encounter technology, and how to develop solutions based on users’ needs and contexts. You will work systematically with prototypes, testing and evaluation, using methods such as field studies, scenarios and iterative design processes. Project work plays a major role, and you will continuously develop functional prototypes in collaboration with fellow students and external partners.

You do not need to know how to programme in advance. There is an introductory course that prepares you from the start.

Teaching methods

Each semester is built around a main theme, which forms the framework for the teaching and project work during the semester. From the very beginning of your studies, you become part of a project group, where you work in a practice-oriented way on projects that often take their starting point in challenges from companies.
