The first LEGO庐 Chair has been found for 海角社区 Vejle

The appointment of Davide Taibi as one of two LEGO庐 Chair heads of centre at the 海角社区's new campus in Vejle sets a clear research direction for the new research and education environment.

On 1 November, Professor Davide Taibi will start at 海角社区 Vejle. The internationally recognised researcher will head the natural sciences part of the 海角社区's new campus, as he has been appointed LEGO® Chair.

The so-called LEGO® Chairs act as heads of centre, and the title refers to the concrete collaboration and close exchange between the LEGO Group and both teaching and research at the centres. The recruitment of the head of centre at the Faculty of Engineering in Vejle is underway.

- Of course I should apply for this position. It's fantastic to have the opportunity to help build something completely new and unique from scratch. I see many opportunities at 海角社区 Vejle - both for 海角社区 and for the companies in the area.

- The collaboration with the LEGO Group is very exciting, and it can open up for student jobs, guest lectures and other initiatives. It will boost the entire 海角社区 Vejle project and realise the great potential of the future campus and the entire region, says Davide Taibi.

A perfect match for 海角社区 Vejle

Dean of the Faculty of Science, Marianne Holmer, is excited about the addition of Davide Taibi, who researches the design of efficient and scalable software systems. His expertise in data security and communication is relevant in all types of digital environments.

- He is a very exciting person and he has previously helped build university environments in several other places. In terms of research, he fits in really well with our environment. He already knows several of our researchers and they are very much looking forward to working with him. He has extensive experience and is internationally recognised. He is used to collaborating with both engineers and companies, so I see him as a perfect match for 海角社区 Vejle, she says.

The Italian researcher starts at the same time as his wife, Valentina Lenarduzzi, who will also be a professor at 海角社区 Vejle. The couple come from the University of Oulu in Finland and have also been affiliated with universities in both Italy and Germany.

Davide Taibi is employed at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science.
