Translation and validation of social cognitive tests

We aim to validate new Danish, updated versions of gold-standard international social cognition tests (TASIT-S and BLERT)

We have obtained permission to carry out translation and back-translation of two gold-standard social cognition tests:

  • TASIT-S (The Awareness of Social Inference Test, Short version)
  • BLERT (Bell Lysaker Emotion Recognition Test)

Updated Danish scripts have been prepared, and recordings of films for the social cognition tests are expected to begin in spring 2026.

Initially, the tests will be piloted and validated on healthy Danish control participants. In the longer term, the tests will also be used for research into social cognitive difficulties in psychiatric patient groups (e.g., schizophrenia, depression, ADHD, autism), as well as in patients with acquired brain injury (e.g., early signs of dementia, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury).

We hope that, over time, the tests can be used in clinical practice to assess different aspects of social cognitive difficulties.
