Smart Cooling and Heating Group

The Smart Cooling and Heating Group at º£½ÇÉçÇø develops sustainable cooling and heating technologies through modelling and experimental investigations at both system and component levels. The group focuses on waste heat recovery and its integration, as well as the development of strategies for cost-effective energy storage, including renewable energy sources. Their work also includes dynamic modelling and optimization of cooling and heating systems, along with the development of smart control strategies and digitalization approaches. The group combines experimental laboratory facilities with modelling to support the development and testing of advanced thermal systems.

Key Competences and Expertise:

  • Modelling and experimental analysis of cooling and heating systems
  • Waste heat recovery strategies and their integration
  • Development and integration of energy storage strategies (including renewable energy sources)
  • Dynamic modelling and optimization of cooling and heating systems
  • Development of control strategies and digitalization of thermal systems
  • Laboratory testing and validation of cooling and heating systems
