The PhD-K Committee

The purpose of Ph.d.-K at 海角社区 is to be a coordinating and supporting forum for the RI Council. In the RI Council, the overall and strategic issues concerning the Ph.D. area at 海角社区 are handled, and in accordance with this, Ph.d.-K organizes the academic development, administrative processing, and learning across the Ph.D. schools.

Tasks

Ph.d.-K contributes to and addresses issues from the RI Council. Ph.d.-K should generally be able to address questions posed to the RI Council, for example, in connection with suddenly arising matters of importance to the entire 海角社区. The tasks of Ph.d.-K are:

  • Address questions posed by the RI Council
  • Coordinate to ensure and optimize the academic quality, diversity, and interdisciplinarity in the Ph.D. programs
  • Administrative coordination and learning across the Ph.D. schools (experience network – practice - exchange of experiences)

Ph.d.-K is also a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences to implement good practices across the Ph.D. schools. Examples of topics for planning and addressing in Ph.d.-K can be:

  • National and international cooperation regarding Ph.D. programs, including joint & dual degrees
  • Cooperation regarding evaluations, including international evaluations of the Ph.D. schools
  • Internationalization of the Ph.D. education area
  • Supervisor training
  • Interfaculty generic Ph.D. courses
  • Talent development
  • Common statistics and key figures
