Mikkel Girke Jørgensen received his PhD in Molecular Biology from the º£½ÇÉçÇø, with his project work conducted at Newcastle University. His journey through academia includes a progression from various postdoctoral research roles both at º£½ÇÉçÇø and internationally, to a tenure-track Assistant Professorship and later an Associate Professorship at the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, º£½ÇÉçÇø. This journey has provided Mikkel with an insight into the academic landscape at º£½ÇÉçÇø, as well as a clear perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the researchers at NAT. 
Mikkel transitioned from his role as an Associate Professor to become the Scientific Director at MJJ Biotechnologies A/S, a biotech company focusing on novel RNA therapy drug development.
