Elisabetta Barili is a doctoral candidate in history at the º£½ÇÉçÇø, Odense (supervisors Aglae Pizzone and Lars Boje Mortensen). She is based at the Department of History at º£½ÇÉçÇø and at Centre for Medieval Literature (CML). She holds a MA in Classical and Modern Philology and Literature and a BA in Art and Humanities from the Università degli Studi di Parma. Elisabetta’s main research interests are Byzantine scholarship, commentaries, and the role of rhetoric in Byzantine literary culture. She is also passionate about Philology and Palaeography. Her PhD dissertation deals with Tzetzes’ commentary on the most mature work of Hermogenes, &±Ê¾±;&±ð±è²õ¾±±ô´Ç²Ô;&°ù³ó´Ç;ὶ á¼°&»å±ð±ô³Ù²¹;&±ð±è²õ¾±±ô´Ç²Ô;ῶ&²Ô³Ü; &±ô²¹³¾²ú»å²¹;ÏŒ&²µ²¹³¾³¾²¹;&´Ç³¾¾±³¦°ù´Ç²Ô;&³Ü±è²õ¾±±ô´Ç²Ô;. Her PhD thesis will lay the groundwork for a future edition of the commentary.
